About Dog Size Chart
Dog Size Chart is written and maintained by Aditya Arora. It exists because sizing a dog is a two-sided problem that most pages only answer on one side: your dog has a girth, and every maker draws its size bands differently. One brand’s Medium is another’s Large.
So this site joins the two. 32 size charts from 21 brands (19 harnesses, 6 crates, 7 collars), 167 published sizes in all, sit next to 127 breed records. Each chart was read from the maker’s own site and carries the URL and the date it was read.
Rules this site holds to
- No invented numbers. Every range, height, weight and girth is copied from a published source. Where a source prints nothing, this site shows nothing rather than filling the gap.
- Girth is never calculated. A chest girth is not derived from a weight or a height, because that relationship is not a fact about dogs. Only 57 of the 127 breed records have a published girth, and the rest say so.
- Every answer says how it was reached. “By chest girth” and “by weight only, less reliable” are different claims, and the tables label which one you are reading.
- Measure your dog. A breed answer narrows the field. It does not fit a harness. Nothing here says a size “will fit”.
- Caveats stay visible. Where a maker’s chart contradicts itself or a source is weak, that is printed next to the number, not buried.
Where the data comes from
Breed heights and weights are the American Kennel Club’s published breed-standard figures, read Nov 4, 2026. Breed girths, where they exist, come from published sizing charts and are attributed row by row. Maker charts were read Nov 4, 2026 from each maker’s own website.
Corrections
If a maker has changed a chart or a number here is wrong, write tocontact@dogsizechart.com and say which page. Corrections are the point of keeping a date on every row.
